Decent initially but got super dry near the end. Stardew Valley ( Move to the countryside, and cultivate a new life in this award-winning open-ended farming RPG! With over 50+ hours of gameplay content and new Mobile-specific features, such as auto-save and multiple controls options. Decent enough game but got super boring towards the end) Robotek ( Unique blend of strategy, action and RPG. Think Minecraft with story and better combat)

Portal Knights (Leave the familiar world behind and step into the fantastic unknown with Portal Knights, a cooperative 3D sandbox action-RPG! This was a decent mobile port which shines on high end hardware but lacking the last few PC updates. I am awaiting new chapters but I caught up. Magium ( Magium is a D&D inspired text adventure game similar to old Choose your own story books (CYOA), in which you play as an ordinary guy named Barry, who joins a deadly mage tournament against the most powerful mages in the world in the hopes of using the prize to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a mage himself. This seems like the prototype for Neon Chrome) JYDGE ( JYDGE is a lawful but awful roguehate top-down shooter where you get to build your own cybernetic JYDGE and eradicate crime in the never-sleeping megacity of Edenbyrg.
Nice story and depth with simple arcade action made it easy to play one-handed on my smaller phone at the time)
Reaper ( Become the Black Swordsman and slay thousands of enemies in an epic action RPG! This was an interesting game I played on my morning commute years back. You have little guys who man different parts of your fort to target the enemy fort and parts, like taking out their engine room to slow weapon charging.) RedCon ( Strategic FTL-like real-time battles involve choosing enemy systems to target while balancing ammo, power and manpower to keep your fortress functioning. Was able to grind and steamroll by the end)īattleheart Legacy (A refined real-time combat system, based on the award-winning "Battleheart" in a mobile APRG format) The first of this type of game I played on Android. You have to recover your souls when you die as well)īattleheart 1 ( Create a unique party of heroes, and lead them in frantic real-time battles against monsters of ever increasing power. Grimvalor ( Grimvalor is a challenging hack & slash platformer with fast-paced combat in a dark fantasy world. This is a roguelite game where you can grow really strong and steamroll by end of your play time.) Neon Chrome ( Neon Chrome is an infinite twin-stick top-down shooter with procedurally generated levels and destructible environment. This game right here is the bee's knees for a mobile game) Space Marshals 2 ( Tactical combat and stealth action game.

This is a FULL BLOWN J-RPG with full turn-based action) There is depth in this game and a simple pick up to play design)īattle Chasers (Three way tie for favorite game on Android. Ticket to Earth ( Ticket to Earth, the revolutionary tactical puzzle RPG! Three-way tie for my favorite/best game on Android. So I choose engrossing games that can easily be played on a commute while having some depth and accessible controls. I am sure some/most of these games are available on other platforms but I am judging them by their mobile experience.

I don't use a bluetooth controller and I try not to chase after the nostalgia from other games.That's one reason why some common games are missing from my list. There is something there for every one.ĮDIT I try to experience mobile focused games first over ports and/or emulators. Play my Top 5 (and/or Top 9) if you haven't by now.
